Our first tour bus was El Colectivo, once even given the name "Roxanne"
by Hablan Por La Espalda's Pablito, a 1982 Mercedes Benz 207 Diesel van
with a camping-proof interior (sofas, kitchen, cupboards). Purchased at
the price of 1500 Deutsche Mark in 2001, the van took us to such great
countries as Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Croatia, Slovenia,
Italy, Switzerland, France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium and the
Netherlands. That's a full dozen countries in about 2 years. We had
trouble at the borders and in the countries of Switzerland, Austria,
Slovenia and Switzerland. We sold it at about 291,000 kilometers. Today
it lives on somewhere in Africa.
The second Tidal van was a tangerine rusty VW Transporter, built in the
glory year of 1984.We called it Orange Submarine and it carried us for
almost 4500 kilometers with no technical problems until we sold it in
November 2004.
